PalmPay, a prominent financial platform in Nigeria, has introduced a USSD service to enhance banking accessibility. Users can now perform various banking transactions via the USSD code *861#, enabling greater convenience even in areas with frequent network outages, thereby improving service reliability for customers without internet access.

Chika Nwosu, the Managing Director of PalmPay in Nigeria, emphasized the company’s dedication to reducing the gap in digital access. He stated that the launch of their USSD service supports their goal of providing smooth connectivity for users. Additionally, he mentioned that this USSD platform has a security feature that lets customers temporarily freeze their accounts if their phone is lost or stolen, adding an extra layer of financial protection.

This service caters to Nigerians without smartphones, allowing them to access financial services through a nationwide network of over 500,000 Mobile Money Agents. The move is part of PalmPay’s ongoing mission to enhance financial inclusion.
