Ghana’s startup ecosystem is growing rapidly, with new ventures emerging to tackle national challenges through digital innovation. A key contributor to this progress is Korngo Dosoo, whose work at Ghana Tech Lab (GTL) has shaped how early stage entrepreneurs across the country approach building and scaling their products.
Expanding product management beyond Accra
When Korngo joined Ghana Tech Lab’s National Incubation Programme in 2022, supported by the Ministry of Communications and the Mastercard Foundation, she identified a critical challenge. Many early stage startups were enthusiastic and creative, but lacked structured knowledge of product management, making it difficult for them to scale.
To address this, she developed the first Ghana-focused product management curriculum, adapted to the realities of local founders working with limited resources. This framework was not limited to GTL’s base in Accra. It was formally adopted by six regional hubs, including Kumasi Hive, Ho Node Hub and the Takoradi Innovation Centre, making high quality training accessible to entrepreneurs across Ghana.
From training to measurable outcomes
Korngo’s work has directly supported over 300 entrepreneurs and 100 early stage startups. Founders who passed through her programme have gone on to secure early stage funding, pilot their products with corporate partners and deploy solutions across multiple regions of Ghana.
By providing training in minimum viable product design, customer discovery and product market fit, her approach has given startups the tools to validate ideas, attract investment and scale beyond initial concepts.
National recognition and ecosystem impact
The impact of Korngo’s work has been recognised across Ghana’s technology ecosystem. Her contributions are viewed as central to building the capacity of founders and shaping conversations about how product management can be embedded into the country’s broader innovation agenda.
Her work demonstrates how targeted training and mentorship, when applied at scale, can have a lasting effect on a nation’s startup ecosystem.
Building Ghana’s digital future
As Ghana accelerates its digital transformation, the role of Ghana Tech Lab and contributors like Korngo Dosoo will remain vital. By embedding product management into the foundation of startup training, she is ensuring that the next generation of Ghanaian entrepreneurs are better prepared to build businesses that are resilient, fundable and globally competitive.
Through her work at Ghana Tech Lab, Korngo Dosoo has made a clear contribution to the national startup ecosystem, helping to shape Ghana’s digital future.
