Nokia has announced a landmark partnership with Telecom Egypt to introduce fifth-generation (5G) technology across Egypt, marking a significant step in transforming the country’s telecom landscape. This collaboration aims to enhance capacity and connectivity, bringing 5G-ready services to key Egyptian cities including Alexandria, Aswan, Cairo, Giza, and Luxor.

Key Details of the Partnership

Technology Deployment: Under the agreement, Nokia will supply Telecom Egypt with 5G radio access network (RAN) equipment from its AirScale portfolio, which includes Massive MIMO radios, baseband units, remote radio heads, and a range of professional services. These will be deployed later in 2024.

Energy Efficiency: Nokia’s solutions will leverage its ReefShark System-on-Chip technology, known for its energy efficiency, to provide enhanced 5G capacity and coverage to Telecom Egypt’s customers.

Professional Services: Nokia will also offer deployment, integration, and network optimization services to ensure seamless implementation and operation of the new 5G technology.
