Since its inception, Klas has garnered significant interest, attracting over 2,000 creators to its waitlist. Presently, the platform boasts more than 5,000 creators teaching 300,000 learners across 30 countries, with creators earning “hundreds of thousands of dollars.”
With the recent investment, Klas aims to expand its creator base to over 100,000 globally by 2027 and plans to adjust its pricing model to drive revenue growth and achieve profitability. Currently, the platform offers a free plan with a 5% transaction fee.
Previously, Founder, Nwachuku and co-founder Lekan Adejumo raised $130,000 in an angel round sourced from notable Nigerian founders and angel investors. Techstars Toronto also selected Klas as one of nine African startups for its 2022 Winter cohort.
Looking ahead, Klas intends to extend its reach beyond Nigeria and Africa, targeting expansion into India and North America.
Nwachuku emphasized Klas’s unique value proposition, highlighting its closed ecosystem and custom-built tools, such as KlasLife for virtual classrooms. Unlike larger platforms that rely on integration toolkits, Klas offers a comprehensive solution tailored specifically for online teaching.
