Meta’s text-based micro-blogging platform Threads will be rolling out the Following Tab. This will allow users to only see chronological feeds from people they follow.

The feature has been long requested since Threads launched earlier this month. This key feature offers a key improvement to the previous single feed that showed users posts from both people you followed and those that you did not. This was quite annoying to users.

How to Access The “Following” Feed

To view the Following feed you need to update Threads to the latest version. Users can switch between For You and the Following tabs by tapping the Threads logo and selecting their preferred feed.

All You Need To Know About Threads

The update comes after Thread’s user engagement has been in decline despite a record-breaking launch week reaching 100 million users in just five days. Following the reduced number of daily active users and engagements, Meta seems to be listening to user feedback.

“Ask and you shall receive.” Meta’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg replied in a quote on Threads to a user who had asked for the Following feature on Threads.

New Features

Following user’s feedback, Threads is introducing new features in its latest update including:

  • An easy “Follow” button and a way to approve follow request for private accounts.
  • New ways to filter notifications.
  • Translations.

After its successful launch, Threads had been viewed as Twitter’s (now rebranding to X) killer by commentators. However, there is still a lot left to be done on the platform with new players joining the text-based social media space such as Tiktok which now supports text-based posts.
