The program aims to identify and scale up innovations that contribute to creating low-carbon and sustainable healthcare systems, enhancing the capacity of frontline health workers to manage climate-related health risks, and ensuring efficient vaccine distribution under challenging climate conditions.
INFUSE provides a valuable platform to mobilize innovative solutions and support the health community in addressing climate change through adaptive and mitigative actions.
INFUSE, short for Innovation for Uptake, Scale, and Equity in Immunization, is led by Gavi and aims to scale up impactful global health solutions by connecting proven innovations with countries in need.
This year’s INFUSE initiative highlights the urgent need to address health challenges exacerbated by climate change, such as increased vulnerability to diseases like malaria and the risk of more frequent and severe outbreaks due to extreme weather events.
The call for INFUSE 2024 welcomes applications demonstrating innovative approaches to address challenges faced by Gavi countries and their partners, with a focus on climate mitigation and resilience. Selection criteria include scalability, potential impact in vulnerable regions, cost-effectiveness with a sustainable financial model, evidence or potential for success, adaptability for implementation in diverse environments, especially in low-income countries, and the strength and experience of the solution’s team.
Innovators and startups worldwide, particularly those from lower-income countries, are encouraged to apply for this opportunity. Selected innovations will join the INFUSE community and receive tailored support to scale their solutions globally.
