Hohm Energy, founded in 2021 by Tim Ohlsen and Emir Gluhbegovic, operates a software platform connecting stakeholders in the solar energy market. The startup, addressing challenges in South Africa’s rooftop solar sector, secured seed funding led by E3 Capital and 4DX Ventures.

Other investors include Breega, E4E Africa, and Tekton Ventures. The funding will support Hohm Energy in accelerating rooftop solar adoption, investing in climate fintech, enhancing technology, and developing solar installer skills.

Hohm Energy offers a platform for installers to manage and finance solar projects, with access to credit financing. They partner with financial institutions like Investec and Nedbank. They will also launch the Hohm School program to train local solar installers for standardized installations.
