Read AI, a Seattle-based startup specializing in generative AI solutions for productivity, recently secured a $50 million Series B funding round, boosting its valuation to $450 million. This round, led by Smash Capital with continued support from Madrona Venture Group and Goodwater Capital, follows the company’s $21 million Series A earlier in 2024. This rapid fundraising reflects investor confidence in Read AI’s offerings, which focus on enhancing efficiency in business communications and workflows by integrating AI-driven summaries across platforms like Slack, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams.
In addition to the funding, Read AI is launching “Read AI for Gmail,” an AI-powered Chrome extension designed to help users streamline email management. This extension integrates Gmail with Read AI’s tools, providing smart summaries, contextual insights, and automated responses, aligning with the company’s broader vision of an “AI copilot” across various enterprise tools. With this momentum, Read AI aims to become a prominent productivity partner in the corporate world, already serving 75% of Fortune 500 companies and adding thousands of new users weekly.
The funding will support further product expansion and bolster Read AI’s position in the increasingly competitive landscape of AI-driven productivity tools as it strives to redefine workplace efficiency for its growing user base.
