A Real-World Example: Consider an AI system tasked with sizing an electrical cable. Based on theoretical design current and protective device data, it might output a flawless mathematical recommendation. But what the AI doesn’t know is the physical reality on the ground such as the number of adjacent circuits crowded onto the same tray, which drastically alters heat dissipation. Without a seasoned engineer to validate that output, a catastrophic future fault is practically guaranteed.
The Hidden Risk of the “Easy Button”
Perhaps the greatest overlooked threat in the AI revolution is the psychological trap of over-reliance. When an automated system is right 95% of the time, the human brain naturally begins to turn off its critical thinking filters.
This creates a dangerous environment characterized by:
- Blind trust in automated dashboards.
- Diminished accountability when decisions go sideways.
