Korngo Dosoo, a young Ghanaian digital innovation leader, has been honoured with a Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Award in recognition of her contributions to entrepreneurship training, digital skills development, and technology-driven community projects.
The award was presented at the YALI Regional Leadership Center West Africa’s recent closing ceremony, which brought together emerging leaders from across the sub-region. Korngo was celebrated for her work in applying digital innovation to advance both youth skills development and sector-specific transformation.
Her journey into technology began with a clear observation: while Ghana’s digital ecosystem was expanding, many young innovators had ideas but lacked the structured skills to turn them into market-ready products. Korngo responded by designing training programmes that combined product management with real-world application, ensuring that participants left not just with knowledge but with prototypes and business models they could take forward. This approach positioned her as one of the few young professionals creating locally relevant frameworks for digital entrepreneurship.
At Soronko Academy, she led product design workshops that trained over 150 students in customer discovery and minimum viable product development, giving young innovators practical experience in building solutions for Ghanaian markets. With Dennislaw, she contributed to the development of legal technology tools that modernised case management and improved access to legal information. At Helpmesettle, she supported the rollout of digital services tailored for the diaspora community, ensuring Ghanaians abroad could access trusted services back home. Each of these roles reflected her commitment to applying innovation to real challenges, from youth employment to professional service delivery.
Reflecting on the recognition, Korngo said: “The YALI experience has reinforced my belief that innovation is about people as much as it is about technology. My focus is on building structures that allow young people and professionals to test ideas, learn quickly, and scale solutions. This award is a reminder that our work in Ghana can inspire change across Africa.”
The YALI Regional Leadership Center West Africa has empowered more than 8,000 young Africans over the past decade, training them in leadership, entrepreneurship, and civic engagement. By recognising leaders like Korngo Dosoo, YALI continues to highlight the role of young Africans in shaping the future of the continent.
As Ghana accelerates its digital transformation agenda, the recognition of innovators like Korngo underscores the importance of equipping youth and startups with the skills and platforms they need to thrive. Her work with Soronko Academy, Dennislaw, and Helpmesettle demonstrates how targeted interventions can build both individual capacity and wider community impact, ensuring that Ghana remains at the forefront of Africa’s digital innovation drive.
