In an exciting development following the recent sale of its assets, Tracey Turner, co-founder of the e-commerce platform Copia Global, is initiating a new business venture. Reports indicate that she is preparing to launch a company to deliver household items across Nairobi and its neighboring suburbs.

The anticipated launch of Turner’s new company is expected between September and October this year.

Sources familiar with the initiative suggest that Turner has already completed the registration of the new company in Kenya and is currently engaged in advanced discussions with potential investors. So far, three investors have expressed interest in providing funding, according to a venture capitalist close to the negotiations.

Additionally, Tim Steel, Turner’s co-founder and former CEO of Copia, is expected to join this new venture, although his specific role has yet to be determined. Steel led Copia through its significant growth from March 2017 until the company entered administration in May 2024.

Copia Global faced severe financial difficulties that became public in May, resulting in the layoff of more than 1,000 employees. In its efforts to secure new investment, the company ultimately opted to cease operations after over a decade in business.
