As the European football season kicks into high gear, MultiChoice Ghana, the nation’s leading pay-TV provider of DStv and GOtv, has announced a fierce crackdown on content piracy. With a renewed focus on stopping illegal streaming and the use of unauthorized decoders, the company is taking strong action to protect its content.

During an interview with GraphicOnline in Accra, MultiChoice Ghana’s Managing Director, Alex Okyere, expressed the company’s strict stance against piracy, describing it as illegal and emphasizing their commitment to combating it with the support of law enforcement. He highlighted the negative impact of piracy on the broadcasting industry and local economy, particularly in the context of the new football season launch on DStv, GOtv, and Showmax. Okyere urged fans to support legitimate channels and avoid pirated decoders and questionable streaming services.

To kick off the football season, MultiChoice Ghana announced a special offer for GOtv customers. For the next three months, customers who upgrade to the GOtv Supa+ package will enjoy a 20 percent discount, reducing their monthly subscription from GH₵300 to GH₵265. This offer provides access to all Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, and select UEFA Champions League games starting in September.

With the new season promising more action-packed football from the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, and global tournaments like the AFCON and World Cup Qualifiers, MultiChoice is committed to delivering premium content while clamping down on piracy. In the coming weeks, the company plans to intensify anti-piracy efforts, including raids and legal actions against offenders.

As the football season unfolds, MultiChoice Ghana remains steadfast in its mission to protect the creative industry and ensure that fans enjoy world-class sports through legitimate means.
