Saudi Arabia’s health-tech ecosystem has gained a powerful new player. Nuxera AI, a Riyadh-based startup developing Arabic-first artificial intelligence solutions for healthcare, has raised $2.5 million in pre-seed funding from Sanabil Venture Studio by Redesign Health.
The funding marks a major milestone for both Nuxera and Sanabil, as Nuxera becomes the first venture to emerge from the new Sanabil–Redesign Health collaboration. The investment will support team expansion, hospital deployments, and the enhancement of clinical AI models through ongoing collaborations with healthcare institutions.
Building Arabic-First AI for Healthcare
Founded by Amin El Hemaily (CEO), Asad Khan (CTO), and Nada Hassan (CCO), Nuxera AI is on a mission to “fix Arabic healthcare with real AI.” The team brings deep technical expertise and local insight to a sector that has long lacked tools built for Arabic-speaking healthcare professionals.
Nuxera’s flagship product, SERA, captures doctor–patient conversations in 28 Arabic dialects, automatically converting them into structured, SNOMED-, ACHI-, SBS-, and ICD-10-coded notes — a process that cuts documentation time by more than 70%.
Complementing SERA is the “Talk to Your Data” engine, which allows hospital administrators to query their systems in plain Arabic, instantly retrieving clinical, operational, and financial insights. Together, these tools make Nuxera’s AI platform a transformative force for healthcare systems in the region.
Transforming Healthcare from Saudi Arabia to the World
According to Nuxera’s CEO, Amin El Hemaily, the company’s mission goes beyond digitization.
“Saudi innovation is no longer following global trends — it’s setting them,” he said. “We built Nuxera to embed seamlessly within hospitals, understanding real Arabic dialects and delivering insights that match how doctors work and leaders think.”
This Arabic-native approach addresses a long-standing gap in healthcare AI, where most global systems fail to understand the linguistic and contextual nuances of the Arab world.
Backing Saudi Innovation
Joshua Ford, Managing Director at Redesign Health, emphasized that Nuxera embodies the kind of innovation needed to reshape healthcare across the region:
“By building Arabic-first AI that understands 28 dialects, Nuxera is addressing a need global players have never been able to meet. We believe it can reshape clinical workflows across Saudi Arabia and set a global standard for responsible AI in healthcare.”
A spokesperson from Sanabil Investments also highlighted the strategic significance of this partnership:
“Nuxera addresses one of healthcare’s most pressing challenges through bold, Arabic-first innovation. It reflects our long-term commitment to supporting Saudi founders with global impact potential.”
A Vision for the Future
With this fresh capital and strategic support from Sanabil and Redesign Health, Nuxera AI is positioning itself as Saudi Arabia’s leading AI hub for hospitals, serving both public health clusters and private medical institutions.
The startup’s growth signals a broader shift — one where Saudi-led innovation is shaping the future of healthcare technology, not just in the Middle East, but on a global scale.
