YouTube has rolled out a new troubleshooting tool to assist creators in reclaiming control of their accounts if they’ve been compromised. Acknowledging the stress and potential damage caused by account hacks, the platform’s new feature provides a structured, immediate approach to resolving the issue.

The support assistant is the first line of defense for creators who suspect their channel has been hacked. It guides them through the critical step of securing their Google login, which is typically linked to their YouTube channel. Once secured, the assistant helps reverse any changes made by the hacker, such as unauthorized profile updates or uploads.

Eligible creators will find the recovery option within the YouTube Help Centre. The tool leads them through a series of questions to ensure every step necessary to secure their channel is followed. This includes verifying ownership, resetting passwords, and reviewing for any suspicious activity.

While the tool is currently available only in English and is not accessible to all users yet, YouTube plans to expand its availability globally in the near future. In the meantime, creators can still reach out to @TeamYouTube on X (formerly Twitter) for additional support with recovery efforts.
