Talk360, a South African and Dutch-based international calling app, has secured $1.4 million in a Pre-Series A funding round, led by long-term investor Havaic. This funding will help the company achieve its goal of connecting seven million users by 2025 and advancing its path to profitability.

In addition to expanding its user base, Talk360 plans to open its in-house payments platform to external businesses across Africa. This platform has already shown success, with a 25% boost in payment conversions. The company aims to integrate local payment methods and currencies, along with over one million cash points of sale, by late 2024.

Founded to provide affordable international calls, Talk360 requires only the caller to have the app and internet connectivity to reach any landline or mobile number globally. Following two successful seed funding rounds in 2022, which raised $7 million, Talk360 has grown its user base from 2.3 million to 4 million, focusing on connecting African migrant communities with their families back home.

CEO and co-founder Hans Osnabrugge highlighted the company’s commitment to expanding its reach and the potential of its payment platform, which aims to address the fragmented payment landscape in Africa.
