The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has announced that Nigeria will host the Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX) in 2025.

Hosting GITEX in Nigeria is expected to boost critical sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, and technology, providing a platform to showcase Nigerian innovations on a global stage. The event will explore the country’s potential in areas like Artificial Intelligence, digital health, and fintech, offering unprecedented opportunities for Nigerian startups to export their technology and ideas to new markets.

This significant event was confirmed through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by NITDA’s Director-General Kashifu Inuwa and Trixie LohMirmand, the Executive Vice President in Events Management at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), during GITEX Africa in Marrakesh, Morocco.

The exact date for GITEX Nigeria 2025 has not been announced yet.

“This strategic initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda to reform the economy for sustained growth. Through initiatives like GITEX Nigeria, we are creating platforms for our tech ecosystem to shine, demonstrating that Nigeria is not only open for business but is also a hub of innovation and creativity,” said Kashifu Inuwa, Director-General of NITDA.
