4DX Ventures, a leading Africa-focused venture capital firm, has welcomed the International Finance Corporation (IFC) as a limited partner for its third pan-African Fund. The IFC’s equity investment of $10.5 million in the fund signals a strategic partnership aimed at fostering the growth of early-stage companies across the continent.

In addition to providing capital, the IFC will collaborate with 4DX Ventures to implement environmental and social management systems, further enhancing the impact of their investments.
The IFC’s investment is part of its $225 million venture capital platform launched to bolster emerging VC ecosystems and support early-stage companies in Africa, the Middle East, Central Asia, and Pakistan.
4DX Ventures Fund III, with a target size of US$100 million, will primarily focus on investing in pre-Series A startups and providing follow-on investments across various sectors, including climate tech, fintech, eCommerce, edtech, logistics, and healthtech. With local offices in Accra, Cairo, and Nairobi, the fund is poised to drive innovation and entrepreneurship across the African continent.
Having already secured $48.9 million for the new investment vehicle, 4DX Ventures has a strong track record of backing successful technology companies since 2014. Led by partners Peter Orth, Walter Baddoo, Daniel Marlo, and Raaid Ahmad, the firm has invested in unicorns like Andela and Flutterwave, as well as soonicorns such as Wasoko and Yoco. Other notable portfolio companies include MaxAB, mPharma, and Hohm Energy.
