The Moonshot by TechCabal 2024 event took place on October 9-10 at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos, Nigeria, marking the second edition of this influential tech conference. Themed “Building for the World,” the event gathered over 3,500 attendees, including entrepreneurs, investors, and key industry players, both from Africa and globally. The conference focused on how African founders and operators could navigate the complexities of scaling their businesses globally, offering practical insights and strategies for success.

A notable aspect of the event was the introduction of new tracks that expanded the breadth of discussions. Among these were Fuel: The Investor Conference, which provided a deep dive into Africa’s investment landscape, the Government & Policy Conference, and Climate Tech, which explored Africa’s rapidly growing climate technology sector. These additions complemented the original tracks, including fintech, commerce, emerging tech, and the creative economy.

Keynote speakers, such as Nigeria’s Minister of Communications, Bosun Tijani, and Sunil Natraj, CEO of Jumia Nigeria, shared their experiences on driving growth in sectors like fintech, renewable energy, AI, and telco. The discussions also explored the challenges and opportunities of building global ventures from Africa. The event fostered meaningful networking opportunities through exhibitions, startup pitches, and roundtable discussions, allowing innovators and investors to connect and collaborate.

The Moonshot by TechCabal conference has quickly become a cornerstone event for the African tech ecosystem, helping drive innovation and global expansion for African startups.
