WhatsApp is rolling out a highly anticipated feature for both Android and iOS users that enhances chat personalization: the ability to customize individual chat themes. This update, currently available to a select group of beta testers, allows users to choose from a variety of over 20 different colors and 22 unique themes for their conversations. This new level of customization gives users more control over the aesthetic of their chats, enabling them to create a personalized experience for both individual and group chats.

With this update, users can opt for a default chat theme that applies to all conversations or customize each chat with its own theme. For example, users can assign one theme for personal conversations, another for work-related chats, and different themes for group discussions. This makes it easier to visually distinguish between conversations, adding a practical benefit to the visual enhancement.

In addition to selecting a theme, the chosen color palette will automatically apply a matching message color, ensuring a cohesive look across chats. Users can also modify their chat wallpaper independently of the theme, offering further personalization options.

An essential feature of this update is that the customized theme is visible only to the user who sets it, maintaining privacy and allowing individual expression without affecting the experience for others in the conversation.

WhatsApp is gradually rolling out this feature to both Android and iOS users, with a phased release to ensure smooth performance. If the feature is not available on your device yet, it will be in the coming weeks as the update expands to more users worldwide. Keep an eye on your App Store or Google Play Store for the latest WhatsApp beta updates to enjoy this enhanced customization feature.
