Tech firm Pathways Technologies has partnered with Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KoTDA) to train and equip young people with tech skills.
Under this partnership, Pathway Technologies and KoTDA will undertake the training under the Jitume Program Initiative. Jitume is a Government initiative aimed at providing access to digital skills, e-services and online opportunities to youth across the country.
The two institutions will collaborate to provide high-tech training programs to bridge the skills gap and foster economic sustainability and growth. Skills to be tought include in Data Analytics, AI, Machine Learning, and Data science.
“We are pleased to sign this MoU today. Pathways brings extensive expertise in cutting-edge technologies and innovative teaching methodologies, which will be combined with Konza Technopolis’ vision of fostering a vibrant ecosystem of innovation and technology.” Joel Onditi, CEO, Pathways Technologies said.
“The training programs will provide hands-on experience, practical knowledge, industry-relevant skills, and employment opportunities to empower youths and students to become key contributors to the digital revolution”, he added.
On his part, John Paul Okwiri, Ag. CEO, KoTDA committed to supporting the partnership in view of meeting the growing demand for tech skills in the country in line with the ambition to position Kenya as a technology Talent Hub.
He said “The MOU with Pathway Technologies has come on time. As Konza Technopolis, we shall provide all the necessary support to ensure that this project is successful in our endeavour to provide one million digital skills to our youth across the country.”
The partnership represents a significant step towards building a knowledge-driven economy in Africa. By investing in high-tech training and innovative skills development, the collaboration aims to create a sustainable talent pool that can drive technological advancements, attract investments, and foster regional economic growth.
During the event, Pathways Technologies and Konza Technopolis called upon development partners, organizations, institutions, and individuals with a shared passion for empowering the younger generation to join forces and contribute towards this transformative initiative.
