MTN Ghana has announced that it will complete the phasing out of scratch cards by June 30, 2024. In a statement to customers and trade partners, the company informed that any unused MTN scratch cards will not be rechargeable after July 1, 2024.

This move is part of MTN Ghana’s sustainability strategy to lead digital solutions and adopt environmentally friendly practices, aligning with the government’s digitalization efforts. The last batch of MTN scratch cards was introduced in 2020.

Customers can redeem the value of their scratch cards through Credit Transfer (EVD) at any MTN Customer Experience Center nationwide.

MTN Ghana encourages customers to use existing digital channels such as MoMo, Ayoba, and the myMTN app to recharge. To promote clean environmental practices, customers will receive a 50% bonus on all recharges made via Mobile Money.
