Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg expressed enthusiasm about Llama 3’s capabilities in an interview, stating, “With Llama 3, Meta AI will now be the most intelligent, freely available assistant. And because we’ve achieved the desired level of quality, we’re making it more prominent and user-friendly across all our apps.”

Llama 3 is expanding its reach to several countries, including Ghana, Malawi, Nigeria, South Africa, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, with plans for further global expansion and multilingual support.

Users can seamlessly access the Meta AI while browsing their Facebook feeds, enabling them to request additional information about specific posts. On WhatsApp, the AI enhances user experience by generating high-quality images with improved text inclusion and offering helpful prompts for image modifications.

During WhatsApp conversations with the AI, images dynamically adjust as users provide more information about the text-to-image prompts.

Additionally, the Meta AI has made its debut on the web at meta.ai, functioning similarly to ChatGPT. Users can log in and initiate conversations, leveraging the AI’s intelligence and versatility.

Meta is following Microsoft and Google by integrating AI into its products and services. The development is seen as a significant advancement for AI in Africa, addressing the funding gap for AI startups on the continent.
