CatalyzU, formerly called Young African Catalysts, has joined forces with pan-African venture capitalist firm Future Africa to introduce the “How to Startup” Fellowship. This 7-week online program aims to equip African entrepreneurs with the essential knowledge and skills needed to build successful businesses, both within and beyond the continent.

The “How to Startup” Fellowship, starting on May 23, 2024, charges a tuition fee of $800 and targets startup founders, aspiring entrepreneurs, startup employees, and corporate innovators. Developed by experienced African founders and venture capitalists, the initiative aims to nurture innovative ideas and expand them across Africa through immersive learning experiences with live sessions and real-world case studies.
The curriculum of the fellowship will cover various aspects of startup development, including idea validation, Minimum Viable Product (MVP) creation, navigating legal and financial complexities, and fundraising strategies. Notable instructors include Iyinoluwa E. Aboyeji, Co-founder of Andela, Flutterwave, and Future Africa, and Mia Koschitzky-Kimani, Managing Partner at Future Africa and Co-founder of DukaConnect.
Upon completion of the program, fellows will graduate into the Young African Catalyst network, CatalyzU’s Alumni Network boasting over 200 founders and VCs across Africa. Here, they will receive ongoing support and access to partnership opportunities.
Applications close on May 14, 2024. Applications for the fellowship will be reviewed and accepted on a rolling basis until all spots are filled.
