Airtel Africa also plans to build a new data centre in Nairobi as part of its strategy to expand its data hub business, Nxtra, and strengthen its presence in the Kenyan market.
Furthermore, the company is investing in the 2Africa submarine cable to enhance digital infrastructure and connectivity across African borders, aiming to improve digital services’ speed and cost-effectiveness.
The company also aims to construct data centres in Nigeria and Kenya by mid-2026 and deploy most of its 5G sites in these countries, demonstrating its commitment to driving digital transformation and supporting local economic growth.
